Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation is legendary in the makeup world and has been a staple in many people’s makeup stash. It is a full coverage, matte finish foundation that controls oil and has SPF 15 for sun protection. NC 46 is a newer shade launched in the studio fix fluid foundation line and they have expanded their shade selection.
These are packaged in a sturdy glass bottle with a twist cap, and pumps are sold separately. And it is priced at ₹2450 for 30 ml of product. The foundation is available online and in stores. There are a lot of shades available in the foundation catering to a wide range of skin tones and undertones.
Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC 46 is described as “deep bronzed with neutral undertone for dark skin (neutral-cool)” shade. The shade is a great match for my skin tone as its perfectly dark warm without being orange.
Hey beautiful people i've been using this Mac foundation is my everyday go to so i thought i would share my review. The music in this video is not my own: Co.

The MAC Studio fix fluid foundation was one of the brand foundations (many shades) in my professional kit when as a newbie Artist I was looking for a good base for the clients and after lots of good reviews and some recommendations I decided to buy this product.
The foundation is formulated to be ” oil-controlling formula that offers a matte finish with medium to full coverage”. And it does have a build-able coverage that still manages to look natural without a cakey finish. Although it contains SPF there is no flashback that I observed and can be worn for special occasions where you might be photographed with flash.
I have normal skin type and found that this foundation lasts well for more than 8 hours on me without any issues. Although, if you do have any dry skin or any patches, it tends to exaggerate them slightly. So make sure you prep your skin well before applying the foundation. I have applied it using a brush, sponge, and fingers and found that it works well with either of them. And it provides good coverage with just one layer of foundation. Although not necessary, I have found that setting it after application helps lock it in and prolongs the wear time.
If you’re finding it difficult to find a higher coverage foundation that matches your skin tone, then definitely visit your closest MAC counter! The MAC studio fix foundation would be perfect as long as you don’t have dry skin.
Hello once again! I bring you today the review of the Studio Fix Fluid foundation from MAC Cosmetics!
Last Friday I was really thinking about getting this super famous MAC foundation that everybody seem to love, since I love the way my skin looks when they do my makeup at the store and let me try new things. However, from ones of this visits I still had a little sample of this foundation. So, I finally decided to do a full test and review using the sample I had (which was very very generous), evaluating the Studio Fix Fluid foundation fully before deciding to buy one.
Also, as you might already know for my Top 10 Mac Cosmetics Products for this Summer 2018 article, Mac is one of my favorite makeup brands ever.
The Product
The Studio Fix Fluid foundation is, along with the Face and Body foundation, one of the most popular ones from MAC Cosmetics. It claims to have a medium to high buildable coverage foundation, that helps control excess oil with a matte finish. It also has SPF 15 which is something I really like in case I forget my daily protection.
This foundation also reduces the appearance of pores, has a long wear finish for 24 hours, and also claims to be “perfect for photographies’. The Studio Fix Fluid foundation is also famous for its 57 shades, among which you can find a tone that adjusts perfectly to your skin. It is specially recommended for oily skin though it really is suitable for all skin types.
The Review
I had been matched with the shade 20NW and received a generous sample to test it out. The first time I tried it, I applied it in the morning, having washed my face with Coalface soap from Lush Cosmetics and moisturized my skin with some Million Dollar Moustuzier (a really great one that I wish they would bring back) that I had left. I applied it as it is advised, placing small dots of product in the checks, forehead, nose and chin, and then blending them out with a wet Beauty Blender.
Mac Studio Fix Fluid Review
The finish is really amazing, and applying it this way you boost the natural and dewy finish that will dry up to be a perfectly fitting matte shade. I usually would finish off spraying some Fix Plus over my makeup, but since I wanted to test the foundation and see it real finish and the Fix Pluses that I had were of a particular finish (Pinklite and Matte), I skipped this step.
Since I don’t usually wear makeup on my everyday, I just wore the foundation and didn’t add any other product on top (I will usually go for blush as a first chance), to see how it worked on its own.
The shade, as I already knew, seemed a little bit darker or warmer than what I actually needed, but it blended really well with the rest of my body. The finish application and blending were really comfortable and easy. I absolutely love the way the Studio Fix Fluid foundation smells, it has a scent that really reminds me of some Clinique products. It it is a subtle but intense perfume, and it all kind of forms the whole ‘Studio Fix Fluid’ experience. The coverage is really nice, high but without looking unnatural, perfectly adapted to my skin shade and complexion.
The results
Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
Even though I didn’t set it with any sprays, it still stayed transfer-proof and even for the whole day, approximately 12 hours between when I applied it and when I removed it. It wears out a little if you spend your day forgetting that you had any makeup on and putting sweaters on and off. I sincerely think that this foundation would be as unmovable as it can get if you too it with some good fixing spray. I would definitely go for the Fix Plus in Matte finish, and then use some highlighter where I thought I needed to ‘glow’.
It also stayed matte and with a nice finish even when it started wearing off, evenly and naturally, not with patches. It all made me really get my right shade figured out and buy one as soon as possible.
Though it’s quite pricy, it is not as much as the Face and Body Foundation (but also maybe because of the product quantity) which is 44 euros, the Studio Fix Fluid foundation is only 33’50 euros.
*In fact, the Face and Body foundation container has 120 ml and the Studio Fix Fluid foundation one has 30 ml, so the second one is actually much more expensive than the other one, probably due to its lower coverage and more natural finish.*
Conclusion
My goal is to set this one as my usual foundation since it feels so nice and professional, the coverage is perfectly buildable and the finish is really natural and matte but not flat.
I think this this foundation is one of the real deals, or possibly all MAC foundations are since they leave your skin looking so amazingly.
I will go with my instincts and order a NW15 or have my shade picked again and purchase the proper one as soon as possible. Also, I need to throw away some old foundations and this is perfect from bringing the ‘new era’ feeling to this autumn winter.
